New York : The shooting of "Grindhouse" had to be halted last year when director Robert Rodriguez got involved with actress Rose McGowan and his wife found out.

Pagesix.com quoted a source as saying: "It was the worst kept secret on the set. They were going off to his trailer, having meals together. McGowan thought some of the crew were treating her differently, and the attitude was, like, well what do you expect when you're (bleep) the director?"

Rodriguez has been married to Elizabeth Avellan for 16 years and they have five children. The couple had even worked together. Elizabeth served as a co-producer on "Sin City", "From Dusk Till Dawn", "Desperado", "Spy Kids" as well as "Grindhouse".

But Rodriguez's involvement with McGowan apparently jeopardised their marriage. McGowan had earlier been involved with rocker Marilyn Manson.
