Movie Report
Aao Wish Karein is a film directed by Glenn Baretto and produced by Aftab Shivdasani. The film is a remake of Hollywood film Big, starring Tom Hanks. Producer Aftab Shivdasani is also the storywriter and has injected some of his own ideas too. It seems like a fairytale but it does not disappoint at all. A decent attempt by debut producer.
Aao Wish Karein tells the story of Mickey [Aftab Shivdasani] a 12 year old kid. He is left heartbroken on realizing he is an adopted child and that the girl he fancies as his angel, the 23 year old Mitika [Aamna Shariff] calls him a 'Kid'. Enticed by the local street side clown Hitchcock [Johnny Lever], Mickey wishes for a miracle.
He is desperate to woo Mitika and he is helped by Hitchcock, who, it appears, knows everything about everybody. Mickey is helped to make a wish at the wishing well, and the next morning he is big enough to woo Mitika. Then begins the process of falling in love and the ultimate marriage day, where Mickey becomes his small self. So is this miracle a blessing or a curse in disguise?, forms the rest of the story.
Director Glen Barretto has handled a few individualistic scenes well. Keshav Prakash's cinematography is excellent. The locales of Himachal Pradesh and Goa look beautiful on screen. Music is soothing and suits the mood.
Performance wise, Aftab Shivdasani delivers a sincere performance. Aamna Shariff is perfect for her role. Johny Lever is brilliant. Rati Agnihotri is good. Yatin Karyekar is alright. The kids are full of energy. Ritesh Deshmukh has a brief role yet played it nicely.
On the whole, Aao Wish Karein is a clean and beautiful romantic film. Writer's imagination power could make it a bit more interesting. Otherwise it a decent film.

| Decent film for kids |

Overall Aao Wish Karein is a decent film for kids and it's a beautiful romantic film too. This film is specially for those who believe in fairytales. Positives - The story doesn't waste unnecessary time and gets to the point from the very start. The romance between Mitika and the young-at-heart Mickey is magnificent and has very sweet moments. Negatives - There are some places where the script tends to get 'larger-than-life'. And lack of imaginative writing towards the climax brings the graph down a bit.
